DAV - Department of North Carolina, Chapter 16 (Onslow County)
We are a Non-Profit Organization that is involved in may outreach
programs. The DAV Homeless Veterans Initiative, supported by DAV’s Charitable Service Trust and Columbia Trust, promotes the development of supportive housing and necessary services to assist homeless veterans become productive, self-sufficient members of society.
Our goal is to establish a partnership between the DAV and Federal, state, county and local governments to develop programs to assist homeless veterans in becoming self-sufficient.
Thought About Becoming a Volunteer?
The Chapter is always in need of volunteers! We host Bingo on Friday nights and would welcome help with calling bingo, cooking in the kitchen, and ticket sales. Individuals are also welcome to volunteer during normal business hours by answering phones here at the chapter. Additionally, we are always looking for volunteers that are willing to transport veterans to and from their VA appointments. Volunteer hours are recorded; if you are involved with any community outreach programs, you can receive credit. For more information, please give us a call.
